What attracted you to Truman?
Truman is "the" college campus. The quad, the residence halls, the school buildings were all what I thought a college campus should look like. I also loved how friendly everybody was on campus. I would get hellos from current students and that gave Truman such a welcoming atmosphere.

What do you like best about Truman?
I love the liberal arts education. I don’t have to find time to fit in classes that interest me, it’s encouraged that I explore all different options and it’s wonderful that the decision is up to me.

What has surprised you about Truman?
I am surprised by how quickly you get to know so many people on campus. Because of the varying disciplines classes cross, the numerous activities and groups on campus, and the variety of people that come to Truman, I feel like I have been exposed to some of the best people I can know.

What do you like best about your classes?
I love their smaller and more personalized settings. I know all of my professors and they all know me. Even outside my major, I can talk with the professors because they are so dedicated to my career as a student.

What do you feel is unique about Truman?
The quality of eduction offered without costing an arm and a leg. My knowledge has increased beyond what I ever thought possible and I know I am not going suffer years of debt because of it.

How would you describe life at Truman to a friend?
A friendly atmosphere where anyone is welcome, a challenging atmosphere but overcoming those challenges make the success feel even better.

What are you favorite things to do in Kirksville?
I LOVE the downtown Kirksville square! There are so many wonderful restaurants, businesses, and a movie theatre, that I can find something that can fit my mood just right.

What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to enter the professional field of theatre, working as a director or any position of the creative team.

Do you have any advice for students considering coming to Truman?
Don’t be afraid of a smaller town. Kirksville is a town that has so much to offer, you just have to be willing to see what’s there. Coming from a big city, I didn’t know how I would feel about Kirksville. Now I couldn’t be happier being here today!
