What attracted you to Truman? My sister attended here before me and I wanted to go to a school where I had opportunities to participate in athletics and leave school with a well recognized degree -- and without a ton of student loans.
What do you like best about Truman?I love the learning experiences and the way professors teach. They use technology well and always teach in a way that makes abstract concepts easier to grasp.
What has surprised you about Truman? The diversity on campus.
What do you like most about your classes?I like how professors give students opportunities to learn outside of class. For example, by pointing out visiting speakers, events in the news, and campus activities that relate to lessons.
What do you feel is unique about Truman? The professors are super accessible and will go out of their way to help you learn. Truman also has the perfect balance between a large student body and an atmosphere where you can get to know most of your peers and professors.
How would you describe life at Truman to a friend? We have great professors and chances for great experiences that will prepare you for life after school. It’s a school where you can maximize your learning without being overworked or ever hung out to dry by professors.
What are your plans after graduation?I plan to get my Master’s in Accounting at Truman and my CPA certification, then go on to work at an accounting firm.
What do you do for fun in Kirksville?I like hanging out with friends, going to the concerts and comedy shows that the Student Activies Board organizes, going to sporting events, and plaing intramural and pick-up basketball at the Rec Center.
