STUDENTS WHO ARE TRANSFERRING CREDIT to Truman from another
accredited college or university, will receive advanced standing,
semester credit hour for equivalent semester hour, for transferable
courses. Transfer students wishing to graduate in a baccalaureate
degree program must earn a minimum of 45 credit hours at Truman,
with the last 28 taken in residence. A minimum of 15 credit hours of
required major coursework must be completed at Truman.
NOTE:
Students who have participated in dual credit programs and/or
those who have attempted prior college credit are required to
have official transcripts sent from all colleges and universities
through which they have been enrolled.
Official transcripts for transfer students must be sent to
the Admissions Office prior to matriculation at Truman.
Undergraduate course work is evaluated by the Registrar's Office for
transferability and applicability. Credit and grades for
transferable courses will become part of the student's academic
record at Truman. Faxed transcripts will not be accepted as official
documents.
IN GENERAL, courses taken at accredited universities will transfer.
Credit by examination is also transferable if the exam score meets
established requirements at Truman. Visit the Registrar's
AP, CLEP and Transfer Equivalency webpage for more information.
The
Registrar's Transfer Website also provides a listing of courses,
by institution, that have previously been transferred to Truman
State University.
A TRANSFER CREDIT EVALUATION is automatically completed with each
transfer admission application. When an evaluation is conducted, a
transfer credit evaluation report is generated. We will
provide you with copies of the report. Your transferable grade
point average is also calculated.
TRANSFER GRADES ARE CALCULATED by using the grades for all courses accepted in transfer (this includes D's and F's earned in courses normally accepted for credit at Truman.) The resulting transfer GPA will be used for admission as well as graduation.
