"What I like most about Truman is the undergraduate research. I have
developed a close relationship with a faculty mentor and have learned
research techniques and how to operate equipment that at larger schools
is solely reserved for professors."
Angie Ingraham; Aurora, IL
Truman provides learning communities in which students and faculty work
together on faculty-directed research projects. A student who is
research-oriented or who plans to seek advanced training in his or her
field may develop a research program which culminates in a research
project with professors. Truman undergraduates have published their
research findings in national journals, presented at professional
conferences, and participated in our
Student Research Conference.
Approximately 1200 undergraduate students conduct research or other forms of scholarly projects each year.
Truman has one of the largest delegations of students every year at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research.
Undergraduate students in all academic divisions are encouraged to apply for a research grant. Funds for students at all academic levels, including freshmen, are available. Truman’s application for admission also serves as the application for the Freshman Undergraduate Research Stipend.
