Important Dates

  • December 1st
    Students wishing to be considered for all of Truman's scholarships and financial aid programs should apply no later than December 1st.
  • January 1st
    Begin work on the Free Application for Federal student Aid. Truman's Title IV code is 002495.

    Recommended deadline for accepted students to apply for housing.

Truman is Missouri's only highly selective public university according to the Coordinating Board for Higher Education Guidelines.

Application for Admission

Truman's admission process is designed to be both streamlined and easy. For this reason, the application for admission also serves as your application for Truman's generous merit-based scholarship program. There are no additional applications to complete for these academic awards. With easy online access to the application for admission, you can choose to print the application and mail it to the admission office or submit your application electronically. If you will be a first-year college student and apply for admission prior to December 1st you will receive the greatest consideration for scholarship selection. Since there is no application fee there is simply no reason not to apply for admission to Truman!

Undergraduate Application for Admission

To obtain an application for admission, you can either:

  1. Complete and submit Truman's online application.  You can save your work online anytime, so you do not have to fill out the entire application all at one time!

    • Go to the online Beginning Freshman Application
      (The beginning freshman application is for students who have not enrolled in 12 or more hours of college credit after completing high school)

    • Go to the online Transfer Student Application
      (The transfer student application is for students who have at least 12 credit hours of post high school credit from an institution other than Truman State University.)

    • Go to the online Reapplicant Application
      (The reapplicant application is for students who have previously enrolled at Truman State University and have not received additional credit at another institution.)

  2. Print the appropriate Adobe PDF version of the application.
    (Requires Adobe Reader)

  3. Complete the Admission Information Request Form to request additional information.
